Hi All,

I am looking to build or modifying an existing scrubber to accommodate the parameters below (as much efficiency as possible)

300 mm ID inlet pipe

Linear velocity = 2.4 m/s therefore volumetric flow = 0.679 m3/s (254 m3/h)

NO         1000 ppm

NO2        2000 ppm

SO2         530 ppm

Cl2           15000 ppm (1.5%) (possibly ClO)

Temp =  300C

Pressure = I just assumed atmospheric as I could not measure it.

Scrubbing solution = 15% NaOH

Scrubbing volumetric flow rate = 4200 L/h

Pressure drop is not an issue as the stack heigh is only 5 m and the blower speed is variable to counter act pressure drop from the packing.

I have a small scrubber from a fume cabinet that has a cavity 450 mm x 450 mm. I proposed a bed height of 350 mm packed with 1 inch pall rings.

Does anyone have any advice of resources to confirm these calculation.

Cheers
