Motor is designed for ambient temperature of 50 Deg C and suitable for outdoor design. Black bulb temeprature is 82 Deg C. Driven equipment is pump and the Motor rating is 15kW

Question

What would the motor performance when this equipment (Pump-Motor) placed under direct sun light, where ambient air temp is 50 Deg C, but motor surface temperature will increase up to 82 Deg C.

Consult the manufacturer, they likely have stress test charts giving value you request from an identical unit under those conditions.

Anyone here would just be guessing.

Edavan,

Sunshine temperature is other than ambient temperature and it might sunshine T would be higher than ambient T. Higher motor surface temperature might not affect the motor operation which already designed for lower ambient temperature. If after consulting with the relevant vendor it might the motor operation be affected by higher sunshine temperature, then it's adequate the motor, or motor and pump, to be located under a proper shelter...
