Hello,

I am trying to use Promax to simulate an acid gas treatment unit. The solvent used is UCARSOL TM HS-102. Has anybody successfully simulated the process in Promax?

The solvent is said to be 45% MDEA. I got much more CO2 removal with 45% MDEA. I am thinking there might be some other agent added in the solvent to achive controlled CO2 remove. Can anyone provide me some information on this?

Thank you,

Leo

Why don't you google it!  The first hit I got said the product is designed to selectively remove H2S in preference to CO2, and that was the first sentence in the 3 page .PDF.  I didn't read further.  Maybe it tells how it does that and maybe it doesn't.

Thanks.
I had googled before I post this topic. I knew it is designed to control the removal of CO2.
My question is how to simulate it in Promax. What components to use for the solvent. I hope someone who had the experience can give me some advice.
Regards,
Leo

Sorry maybe I didn't say it clearly. I meant to favor H2S removal and CO2 in treated gas is controlled at certain level, not too high or too low.

My bet is that it is pure MDEA. Are you trying to match operating data or Dow's H&M balance? Can you post the model?

there are some additives in MDEA.
