We had a PSV on an existing vessel set at 1300 psi.
Now we have new application for which the PSV size is calculated to be 200 psi.
Can the PSV be modified on field to work on new pressure. Can the orifice be changed ?

You may reset PSV setting pressure but not modify the orifice area.

1. no you cannot reset a psv by more than plus minus 10% using the same spring
2. you also cannot change the orifice because you have not done any flow calculations for the revised comdition. Even if you do it , your pressure difficulty will not allow you to do that
