All,

I am working on a project to review our cooling tower bleach line (sodium hypochlorite). We are having issues with the bleach line cracking and leaking at elbows and couplings. The current material that is being used is KYNAR and no leaks have been detected on straight runs; however, many leaks have been found on elbows.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with bleach lines and what type of material is typically used?

CPVC seems to be the recommended material, but I was curious if there are any other options.

Regards,

Mike

Mike,

You can use PFTE or Ryton material for sodium hypocholride...
