Dears:

Please share with me what is best oxygen scavenger for following boilers:

1-pr    :44 Barg

2-Temp. :274 centigrade

2-capasity :160 ton/hr

3-type of feed water :10% Dmw+90% return condensate

Consider this resource , Google should help you too, same for vendors of chemical for water treatment (NALCO, LG, Spirax Sarco,...) .

Hydrazine should be one candidate .

Good luck ,

Dear Breizh:

Due to some condition the known international mark not available,we currently use ammonium bi sulphite which causes our boiler PH reduce to danger acidic level.

Organic or inorganic which one you recommend?

Hi ,

I would suggest Hydrazine (amine) .

Consider the handbook attached for your work .

Mr Rahimzadeh,

Please check the dosing rate of ammonium bi sulphite; the relevant feed ratio (scavenger/dissolved O2, by weight) should be around 8 plus a margin

Hydrazine is no loger being used due to its carcinogenic effects in humans...

Dears :

I think the selection of Ammonium bi sulphite was wrong decision because it decompose at low temperature and lower PH of lower .

In addition i read in some text that ammonium bisulphite can be used in low temperature , for example waste water treatment and so on.

Hi ,
Fallah is right about hydrazine , consider the alternatives attached if you can get access to these molecules /vendors .

Mr Rahimzadeh,

Yes, ammonium bi sulphite is mostly used in low or moderate temperature applications such as water treatment systems. It normally begins to produce corossive gases at the temperature around 250 C and because the boiler you described is working at higher temperature i.e. 274 C, your judgment about the wrong selection of oxygen scavenger is appears to be right...
