Hello fellow engineers.

For my graduation project, I will be designing a reactor for the following series reaction scheme:

Palmatic Acid (l) >>>> 1-Tetradecene (l) + Acetic Acid (g)

2 [1-Tetradecene (l)] >>>> 1-Octacosene (l)

Notes:

- The desired product is 1-Tetradecene, and Acetic Acid is a valuable by-product

- 1-Octacosene is worthless and highly viscous (causes fouling problems)

Question:

- I am thinking of designing a membrane reactor to separate 1-Octacosene on the spot before it fouls subsequent piping and equipment in the plant.

- Moreover, I would like to add vents to the reactor to separate the gaseous Acetic Acid. This will save cost on distillation and flash drums. Is this even possible?

What's do you think of my ideas? I welcome any other ideas as well.

Also, I would appreciate it if you could direct me to design guidelines of membrane and venting reactors
