Hi All,

In my application I am designing degassing vessel which is located upstream of light hydrocarbon (gasoline) tank in order to remove all the flashed gas in degassing vessel. In order to achieve this I have kept low operating pressure of vessel (0.5 psig). In this vessel, Flashed gas is 80 Am3/hr and liquid outlet is 50Am3/hr.

Question: Is it required to have blanketing gas for this vessel? The site doesn't have blanketing gas. If required, is it advisable to use PVRV?

Generally, whether blanketing is needed or not is determined by the operator, or other requirements such as environmental or fire safety.

If you do blanket, you would require a PVRV but from your question I assume that you have no knowledge of blanketing so you should familairize yourself with it. API 2000 is the standard, and you can search this forum for many conversations on the subject.
