Hello every one,

I am a new member in your forum an d i wish find some help.

I am trying to size an atmospheric tower using Waltkins' book (1969) but there are various termes not clear;

 please help me on:

*) how to convert ASTM  to TBP and EFV temperature.

*) how to determine the cut yields.

*) are there other books or standards to use in this sizing

Dear Napo,

thak you sir. I have the applied hydrocarbon thermodynamics book's but I don't have the second.  I am working with WALTKIN's book "petroleum refinery distillation", the first edition (1969) but it is so hard and i hope to find the second edition (1969) of this book. please, can you send me a copy of this book if you have.

Warm regards,

Mhmadi Khaled.

Dear Ahmadi Khaled,

The "Petroleum Refinery Distillation" by R. N. Watkins, 1979 (290 pages), it is only in Public Biblioteques, I think only few colleagues have this book.

The second book, maybe you can download of web.

Other important books are:

- Distillation -Design- by H. Kister.
- Distillation Engineering Handbook by P. Chattopadhyay.

Wher are you from?. I have references in French, German and Russian.

Regards,

Napo.

Hi Mhandi Khaled

For your help, why don't use the "Handbook of Petroleum Processing" by Jones, Pujadó chapter 3. I think is an useful source for crude and vacuum design.

Good luck

Fausto
