Dear All
I request you to help me understand the LP Gas Carrier ship unloading process when the LP Gas Carrier ship (max. 4000 m³ capacity) is pressurized in nature.
My understating of the process:
- Marine loading arms (Liquid for LP Gas transfer and Vapor for vapor balancing between storage and gas carrier) are lined up.
- Pressurized Liquid LP Gas from the carrier is first transferred to the pressurized storage (bullets of spheres) by difference in pressures.
- Ship mounted pumps are then started and Liquid LPG is transferred.
Query:
- After the entire Liquid LP Gas is transferred from the LP Gas carrier ship, there are substantial amount of vapors present in the ship. Is it a usual practice to recover these by use of a compressor?
- I am aware this is done for Tank Trucks and Tank Wagons. Is it also applicable for LP Gas carrier ships. If yes, are the ships equipped with the compressors or not?
