Hi,

 

could anyone advice what should be the distance between tank bottom and suction bellmouth

As far as i know, the distance between tank bottom and suction bellmouth has to be specified per "Maximum Diameter of Bellmouth Entry" and is normally 0.8 to 1 times of that miximum diameter...

akv_csl,

 

As per Hydraulic Institute Standards the distance of the bell mouth to sump floor is 0.3~0.5 of maximum bell mouth diameter. Also I attached an image of one of our past project for bell mouth dimension. Here, it is 0.5D (diameter is 1600mm, distance from floor is 800mm). This is for sump though.
