Good Day,

NH3 centrifugal compressor, for refrigeration purpose, uses wet oil seal. Seal oil traps are working properly and they Degas the sour seal oil (seal oil, which has absorbed NH3) but a sufficient amount of NH3 gas remains absorbed within the seal oil. The absorbed NH3 gas then disengages in the seal oil tank. The seal oil tank is provided with two breathers and a vent. Disengaged NH3 gas escapes through breathers and vents into the atmosphere, thus contaminating it.

A solution is required to recover that NH3 gas. Any options? If anyone has faced/facing such a problem please share..

Note: It is not possible to inject waste NH3 gas into the compressor suction, since, the suction pressure is greater.
