Hi,

I am currently sizing a low pressure mud pump that feeds the drilling centrifuge to remove fine solids.

It's located downstream the mud gas separator, the shale shakers and the mud tanks (all operating at atmospheric pressure). Hence, no vapors are expected and I believe no vapor pressure as well.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am not accounting for the vapor pressure head loss in the NPSH calculation of the pump. However, I am challenged that it's not true and it might be negligible.

I checked some text books as well as different published papers and haven't found anything about mud vapor pressure.

Your feedback is appreciated

Sherif
