Could anybody advice method of sizing a liquid ring vacuum pump suitable for priming a large centrifugal pump (including connected pipe lines).

Hi Arun,

Sizing depends on how much time you require for priming the pump along with connected pipelines. In my plant we have cooling water pump and primming with water ring vacuum pump will take approx 5 to 7 mins. By knowing the volume of your pump & connected pipe lines and time required for primming, you can calculate the capacity of vacuum pump.
