Dear All,
In one of the project, currently we are dealing with positive displacement compressor system. The compressor system has a inlet and outlet dampners. The inlet suction header is having two check valves. Check valves upstream system design pressure (16 bar) is low compare to settle out pressure (35 bar) of the compressor system. Therefore, check valve failure is a credible scenario. The question over here is:
1- Is inlet suction header be in pulsating service ? If yes, project guidelines does not allow to take credit of second check valve in pulsating service & required relief rate will be very high.
2- If 100% flow through check valve is considereD system needs "8" T orifice PSV. Which doesn't seems practical solution. Please guide on how the flow rate can be reduced.
What is the criterion to decide pulsating services?
Regards,
Anup.
