Hi.

For checking combustion efficiency flue gas is analysed. Due to find optimal point of air excess I would like to carry out the test with gradually and manually reducing the amount of air supplied to the burner till to CO begin generate. But we have analyzers which measuring COe (combustibles in flue gas) content. Does anybody know if this test can be conduct using device measuring O2 and COe concentration? If not, could you give me some suggestion, how to conduct such test?

Thanks and regards

The age-old equipment to analyze flue gas composition is Orsat Apparatus. It is still used and  is inexpensive. It measures, basically, CO2, CO and O2. By modification, it can be applied to Hydrogen and Total hydrocarbons also.
