Hello everyone,

I have been asked to develop a modification to a batch process. The process is as follows:

In a stirred tank reactor, a solid- liquid reaction takes place to form a slurry in presence of solvent. The process requires a temperature of 80 deg C and is very exothermic and hydrogen is also evolved. So the temperature is increased slowly from 40 to 80 deg C so that heat is controlled (7-8hrs process, temperature is maintained at 80 deg Celcius for 4 hrs). The slurry weight is around 500kg.

Can I convert this process into a continuous one? How?

Gaurav
