Dear all,

I have a doubt regarding the diameter to list in a line list.

I have been working in some projects, and some of them list only the nominal diameter of each line, while others list each pipe branch diameter, specification change, etc.

From my point of view the correct one is the first option because makes the line list document an easy and usefull document.

I just would like to be clear on what is the standard or correct one and there is any solid reference on this particular question.

Thank you in advance,

To be honest, I feel it really depends on what is needed. You probably have a list of engineering deliverables, it might have already specified what are the information you need to provide. My guess is that those different projects you have seen, had a different requirement for the deliverables and hence the information delivered is different. Therefore, I feel that technically speaking, both options are correct.

On these kinds of issues, your boss is always correct and your client is the king.
