Normally in a Multi Effect Evaporator increasingly higher vacuum is needed on successive effects since you want to be able to reduce the boiling point in successive stages to be able to use the vapor from the previous effect as a heating medium. i.e. The deltaT needed is provided by depressing the BP of liquid using a vacuum. This applies to Both Forward and Backward Feed arrangements?

But is this vacuum also needed in a parallel flow feed arrangement? If the same feed is being sent to all effects in parallel wouldn't a delta-T be available even without a vacuum? Albeit a slightly decreasing delta-T on the subsequent effects.

Stupid me. I think I was making a error in thinking. Now I see why it cannot be done.
