Hi All,
I am looking into process equipment design to condense hydrocarbon(HC) vapor + water vapor to liquid hydrocarbon. Here are the details so far:
Rough composition of inlet vapor stream:
Diesel 45 wt %
Water 45 wt%
lighter HC 7 wt %
Heavier HC 1 wt %
Nitrogen 2 wt %
Inlet vapor temperature = 700 F.
Also inlet stream could have high solid contaminants.
So far I was thinking to use quench tower ( or Venturi scrubber) with combination of heat exchanger to cool down from 700F to 200 F in 2 stages. First stage will mostly condense HC and 2nd stage will condense water. Afterwards I am thinking to separate oil water mixture through gravity.
Is this the cheapest way to condense HC and Water?
I would appreciate everybody's guidance.
Thank you in advance for help.
