Hi all,

I'm an intern in a Terminal, I'm working on Asphalt storage tanks.

Asphalt is stored in vertical cylindrical storage tanks at 140 oC, I need to find:

1- The heat loss from the storage tank

2- The heat that must be supplied so I can design a coil

Thanks,

Ralph

This topics has been discussed at ChE Forums on numerous occasions. Please use the search button and you'll get plenty of internal links, including articles, spreadsheets etc.

As for the second question: heat in = heat out. This seems to be a forgotten thing nowadays.
