Dear colleagues

Good day

I have one question about pump tests:

As we know all test of pump will be done by water

My question is:

If they test with water, how we can compare it with HC fluid?

For example for pump which work in oil and gas industry and when vendor give us the power -Q or h-Q and …

Those curve have been generated from water how we can compare it with actual fluid?

Second question:

All data in vendor data sheet are based on actual fluid or water?

If mention data are based on actual fluid ,how we can test it on vendor factory?

Best Regards

Mike

Dear breizh

Thanks for your useful resource

One of my question is remain

When we have performance curve of pump and also the pump data sheet with hydrocarbon fluid

Can we check the data sheet parameters such as NPSH, POWER,HEDA

With vendor curve?

or we should consider the correction factor first and after that check with vendor curves

Mike ,

NPSHA and Power are depending of your fluid properties , this means that you need to perform correction . I don't know the meaning of HEDA.

breizh

thanks again and sorry about my mistake ,it was HEAD ,

as i understand vendor give us the performance test based on water with density of 1000kg/m3

when we have hydrocarbon with density of 850 kg/m3

How we can compare  the NPSH curve or head curve and power curve with our data sheet to assure vendor data on curve are correct

or how we can consider the correction factor

as i know we just have correction factor for viscosity

THANKS IN ADVANCE

mike

mike,

Yes, you might just have a correction based on viscosity if it is so high...

Mike ,

For viscosity correction  refer to the booklet attached (KSB) .

Note : a lot of materials concentrated in a single document .

hope this helps
