Dear All,

in our gas compression and reinjection facility, unexpected changing of Inlet gas composition has occurred ( the gas became leaner (M=22<< M design=27). wich routed to an effective influence of outlet pressure and compression system.

I am asked to model the Dynamic compression system , and study the behaviour of the compressor ( anti-surge..) with the new parameter and different scenario ( shutdown , decreasing of flow rate...ect)

My questions are:

1/ Can we use the same curve system of the compressor for the new gas composition.?if not how can we estimate new curves?

2/ how can we resize the surge valve?

Regards,
Walid,

Polytropic head is a characteristic of the machine, not the gas. And you should engage the services of one who is skilled in the art of compressor modelling.

Thanks Bobby

What confused me that I found in compressor datasheet tow system  curve  of tow diffrent moleculair weight M=25 and, M=27 .

can you give me the procedure to size a surge valve ?

Regards,
