In our CCR platformer high purity hydrogen is produced using PSA.  The PSA outlet tailgas contains 40-50% H2.  The flow rate is about 4-5 TPH and its pressure is 5-6 Kg/cm2g.  Can we use this gas for recovering more Hydrogen by a PSA or membane separation processes?  We have  a spare PSA unit avaliable.  Can we feed low purity gas to the PSA unit?

you can increase recovery from your PSA by decreasing the tail gas pressure. usually a rotary compressor is used for this scope.

if you want ot reuse the old PSA, you should recompress the tail gas up to about 30 barg to recover other hydrogen... of course this is not economic.

other options could be available depending on refinery scheme i.e. combination with other rich H2 streams and subsequent recovery.... for instance using membranes..

good luck
