HI

I am working on sizing of the Deethaniser column in NGL fractionation unit. as PFD the Deethaniser consists of 2 sections. Upper section diameter is 5.183 meters and lower section diameter is 8.23 meters and column height is 53.8 meters . Based on the plant data , I have simulated in HYSYS.

Sizing of the column is carried out by using tray sizing utility .however, HSYS results are not matching with the plant data (Diameter of upper section is 4.1 meters and lower section is 7.7 meters and column height is 51 meters)

Please share your experience, how to size columns to achieve the  plant data

You can download good software from the Koch-Glitsch site. And Sulzer, too. Plant data is not the size of your existing column. You need to look at the original design loading.

yes, As sir Bobby posted, first establish the loading as per origional then use K-G tower or sulzer programe to size the tower.
