Hi, forum

I'm working on LPG treating with amine extraction. I would like to check pressure rise due to surge. On this forum I've found some equations:

1. BM=A+B*P-C*T^1/2+D*T^3/2-E*API^3/2

where A,B,C,D,E - are constants

P - pressure in psig

T - temperature in °R

API - gravity

2. BM=10^6*exp(A-B*T-C/SG^2-D*T/SG^2)

where A,B,C,D - are constants

T - temperature in °F

SG - gravity

Could anyone tell me where I can find sourses of this equations: any articles or books?

look in API TDB for similar correlations,

you can calculate dens(t0,p0) / dens(t,p) = 1.0 - p / Bt (bulk modulus)

for not too heavy petroleum fractions the Tait-COSTALD method should give reasonable results,

as alternative you may use a EOS to estimate compressibility or 1 / bulk modulus
