Hello

for pumping from negative head like pump from neutralization sump pump, must be selected only submersible pump?can we use conventional centrifugal pump for pumpin from (-2 meters)?

centrifugal pumps must be full of liquid at start up, therefore when we pump from negative head, pump isnot full of liquid at startup. is it true?

Hi,

There are many pumps available for pumping liquid effluent/ neutralizing pit water which works well with -2m suction head. Generally, effluent/ neutralizing pumps will be of self priming type. During initial startup, you need to prime the pump. Then you need not do priming for self priming pump unless there is leak in gland/ flange.

If the pump is not of self priming type, then you need to have priming tank.
