]Hi everybody,

in our gas compression and reinjection Facility , the composition of gas has been changed, so we need to install  new HC- dew point control unit.

The selection of the dew point control processes will be  studied separatly ( propan loop; turbo-expender; and twister technology)

(Methanol or glycol ) will be add to prevent hydrate formation in both of (propan loop  and turbo expender)

but not in twister ( one of the advantage)

I made simulation of propand loop and turbo expender, and  I try to modele twister technolgy by using turbo expender with a  low effcienty ( 20%) and separator with carryover ..find the attched schema

is what I did right? is there any improvement I can add ?

how can I assume the right effcienty and  the amount of carry over ?

I will be pleased if you give me more information about twister technology

Thanks,

Use the data in Figure 2 (green lines) to estimate the efficiencies of the expansion (from 20oC/100bar to -43oC/36bar) and of the recompression (from -43oC/36bar to 5oC/70bar).

thanks,

I used this exemple and I found a high efficiency not as I thought 88%/ but when I re compress the gas with the compressor (85%) I found a higher temperature than 5°C.
I think in twister evaluation temp is not the same as in the compressor (adiabatic , polytropic) it is something else (supersonic ...).

i don't know wich equation I can use to determined outlet temperature?

You should vary the efficiencies of both the expansion and the compression until you get the correct outlet temperatures at the pressures given in the example.

If the outlet temperature that you get is too high then the efficiency that you used is too low. And vice versa.

Efficiency of expansion and compression need not be the same value.

Hi Walid,

If you can request from your company, and it is a real project, FEED, or Feasibility study, Twister BV can give you a Twister extension for Hysys (blackbox) via a software agreement license.

It is very useful if you want simulate Twister Technology in HYSYS

regards.
