Fallah in last post of this topic have attached ASHRAE_Journal for calculation of expansion tank volume. I have some questions based on this attached file:

1-For calculating of expansion tank volume have been used from equation 5,6 but it is written:" equations 5 and 6 , which apply to bladder/diaphragm type tanks" .

Can these equations also be used for other tanks(Closed type and Open type)? If not, what are equivalent equations for closed type and open type?

2-Selection the type of tank is on what basis?

3-I am working on closed cooling system for a plant, like figure1 of attached file by Fallah, we have considered atmospheric expansion tank in Point A (based on figure1) and a PRV in system. For calculating of expansion tank volume, i havent seen anywhere to consider outlet flow by PRV, assuming a problem for PRV and Stay open for example, half an hour. It is not also mentioned to this subject in ASHRAE attached file.

Do i need to consider outlet volume of water from PRV in calculating the volume of the expansion tank?If not, What happens if PRV remains open for example, half an hour and water leaves the system?
