    Hi,

i am simulating extractive distillation for ethanol dehydration using Hysys. so for i have simulated extractive distillation column .but it is not converging,it goes through thousands of iterations and at last it shows unconverged. May i get some hint and guidelines to converge it, Hysys file is attached.

You can relax the convergence criteria. Before you do that, modify some parameter to relax the separation requirements. And, you want to be sure that your feed is near 95% ethanol or greater. I presume that you selected the proper properties package. If you have access to AspenTech's support site, look for help there.

I don't have software to view/run your file. But, now that you have a converged solution change the parameters gradually to achieve the results you want.  Be sure to save the case that is converged.
