I am a process engineer and i am in position to make centrifugal pump datasheet. In the datasheet is there any necessary to include pipe sizes for the pump ?
because suction and delivery size of the pump will be given by vendor...is that correct sir..

kishore,
Suction / Discharge line size and details such as pipe rating (flange rating, 150/300#) and flange type and finish are normally part of most standard pump datasheets. This is to ensure that pump manufacturer has an idea of the connecting suction and discharge line sizes and flanges.
Of course, the pump suction / discharge connection size are the pump manufacturer's prerogative based on the process and mechanical data provided, but this additional information is always helpful for the manufacturer in terms of matching the pump suction / discharge connections with the suction / discharge line flanges. Sometimes, pump manufacturers can supply mating flanges for the suction / discharge connections if demanded by the client.
Hope this helps.

Ankur.

Hi Kishore ,
"The more you give the better it is " . You can add information under "remarks" to ensure your supplier will take note .
Good luck.

@ Ankur sir
i think it will helps....i have two more points to clarify
1) But is there any conditions for using mating flanges and it increases the cost of the pump ?
2) In some datasheets, for NPSHa is flooded....what is it?

Kishore,
Obviously, if you ask for anything extra such as mating flanges for suction / discharge you will need to pay extra for that.
The term "Flooded Suction" is a loose term and doesn't really help the pump manufacturer. Specifying correctly the NPSHa value is what a process design engineer is required to do to ensure the correct pump selection. Personally, I don't recommend use of such terms which are not able to convey the right information for equipment selection.

Ankur.
