Sir,

 

Efficiency of centrifugal compressor depends on poly tropic exponent (heat capacity ratio).

And this is function of Cp. Cp is function of temperature.

 

For the Cp calculation which temperature need to be considered suction temperature or the discharge temperature of the compressor.

Most of the compressor manufacturers I dealt with in the past, used an average temperature, between the suction and discharge temperatures.  This was usually accepted as 150 oF for each stage of compression.  In using this method in my calculations to check out or estimate compression values, I found the method to be accurate from a practical point of view have used it in all my past calculations.  I think I saw this method mentioned in the GPSA Engineering Handbook at one time.
