Dear all,

 

I am working on Co-generation plant where natural gas is being used to run Gas turbine. Natural gas is first compressed by PD compressor (Natural Gas Booster Compressor) and then sent to Gas turbine where it first faces Axial compressor.

 

I want to ask why PD compressor is used for this purpose not centrifugal. The flow rate and pressure requirements are 7 MMSCF and 46 bar on 3rd stage.
