Dear Gentlemen,

In my plant we have HP (106 kg/cm2) steam system. I want to calculate steam losses from vent valve. I don't have characteristic curve of the valve. Kindly help me to calculate vent steam flow by valve opening.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

Is it a check valve or vent valve?

Hi ,

Talk to the vendor , the only one to answer about the valve ( Cv vs Opening & DP) . To me you may have to install a flow meter like annubar or similar device to measure the flowrate (based on similar application)

Hope this helps

I trust that attached datahseet is control valve datasheet. Characteristic of the control valve is linear. By knowing the opening percentage, you can estimate the venting steam flowrate by sizing back the control valve using vendor software like flowserve. They did provide the software for customer. By doing the re sizing using existing model and valve characteristic, you can generate valve curve and flowrate at that particular opening can be estimated.
Or as per breizh said, can liase with manufacturer.
