Dear all,

I am currently involved in a retrofitting project in Amnonia plant acid gas removal unit.

The unit utilizing benfield solution (K2CO3 ) for acid gas removal.

Scope of retrofitting including adding a flash tank and carbon filter.

There is some question raiesd  on passivation method for carbon filter. As the carbon filter is located downstream of mechanical solution filter, and it is operated in batch mode, Any idea on how to perform passivation for the filer? Does lean benfield fluid from upstream solution filter can utilized to perform passivation? or a separate static soaking passivation is required for the Carbon filter itself?
