In our Lube Refinery Rotary Drum vacuum filter is used  which separates Wax from the Lube oil to enhance its pour point. Around 20% wax is separated from this process. Filter cloth Cotton has been used in it.

In the recent days we have replaced filter cloth and than again commission the unit, Abnormal sound from the drum is heard from the valve head side, This abnormal sound is just like some metals surface is grinding against each other,

The pour point is also becomes off specs and WAX(Slurries) are also seen entrained  in the Lube Oil, Thus there is a mixing between the product.

The most important point to be mentioned here is that there is no any abnormal sound is observed while the drum is in rotation in OFF LOAD position, It means Does there are chance of offset with respect to process aspects. Or is it totally mechanical failure?

Kindly furnishes your valuable comments in this context
