Hello everyone

I’m designing and evaluating a CO2 separation unit based on absorption with MEA (30 % W/W). I already estimate the capital expenditures (CAPEX) of principal equipment (absorption tower, stripping tower, compressors, heat exchangers, etc.). For complete this study, I need an estimation of the initial solvent volume (MEA) that is going to be recirculated between the absorber and the stripper. The gas to be treated (70 000 Nm3/h nominal fed rate) has a CO2 composition of 25 % molar basis.

How this volume (hold-up) may quickly be estimated?  Or this expenditure may be neglected?

Thank you in advance,

Best regards,

Wilmar

Wilmar,

You can review in Cheresources the Excel spreadsheet about "Amine Sweetenig Unit preliminary Design", by Ankur 2061.

Hi ,

You probably need to estimate teh hold up of your equipments, pipes , storages .

My view .
