Does anyone know if the Fired Heater design in 'Aspen Exchanger Design & Rating V8.4' is capable of modelling a fired heater with endothermic cracking reactions occurring?

As far as I can tell, the results are not taking into account energy changes due to reactions.

Thanks.

No, in Aspen FIHR you can design and calculate fired heaters only for heating of petroleum feed, without any reactions e.g. cracking, visbreaking and etc. For calculating of cracking heaters (visbreaking) you can use PetroSIM with addons: http://www.kbcat.com...9904b702d208923
