Hamzzuss

First of all you should know the principles of selection and sizing of a 3-phase separator.

For instance, when it should be vertical and when to be horizontal.

Then in Hysys, after adding materials and equation state you will enter the simulation environment.

Then you add an material stream and define the parameters and compositions.

In the next stage , you should choose the separator from the Pallet.

After defining the inlet and outlet streams and probable pressure drop, run the simulation.

Then go to rating tab and select quick size to obtain the diameter and height of cylinder or sphere.

Here to have a good design, you should know realize the principles of sizing and selection.

Hi hamzzuss

I think you can obtain the physical properties from Aspen HYSYS ( density, viscosity, flow...) and use them in the SPREADSHEET where you put the equation and some of constant like and L/D ratio to achieve your design,

Also there is an option (vessel Design) in Apen HYSYS that you can use it, (I used one time and I found weird results) so you can use both of methods and let us know what you got.

Walid,
