We gave NG based steam reformer for H2 and CO production. The reformer box pressure we maintain is -1.12 barg mbarg. The operating manual suggests the pressure of reformer box should be -0.5 mbarg. What would be the effect of this pressure change in Reformer outlet temperature and the temperatures of Convection section?

Lower reformer box / convection pressure, than higher propability of ambient air leaks in to it. It could affect of incorrect( higher values) indication of excess air in reformer box
