Hi all

we have an oil flooded screw compressor that exhibits loss of capacity and noise after the compressor has been dismantled for maintenance it was found that the male shaft pinion (male shaft is driven by jackshaft) gear didn't have full contact on the shaft and noticeable circular scratches noticed on the shaft indicating that the pinion was spinning

Now my query is as follow

6 years ago we got a damage in the same compressor female rotors and we replaced male and female rotors

is it possible now to use that male shaft from the old rotor pair with the female shaft from another rotor pair

there is no strip seals on the rotor tips by the way

if the answer is no is it possible to remachine both old male and new female to be matched pair !!!

regards
