Dear group members,

We have to refurbish an old reactor in our industry. We are planning to make it as limpet batch reactor. But, we have heating as well as cooling requirement in our reactor. Can we arrange alternate cooling and heating system of coils in limpet model?

Cooling requirement: From 75 to 40 deg C.

Heating requirement: From 45 to 75 deg C.

We are using hot oil for heating purpose and water for cooling purpose. If we arrange alternate heating and cooling coils, will there be any problem for heat transfer area?

If yes, Please suggest me any other design for both heating and cooling. Can we use conventional jackets for alternate heating and cooling? Which type of jacket is better between limpet and conventional?

Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Hemanth
