We are specifying a bulk bag unloader that is handling Adipic Acid powder outside under a shed roof. According to some preliminary information, this will be in a hazardous location - Class I, Division 1, Group G - with a Dust Hazard Class of St 1. I know the motors will have to be explosion proof, but will the bulk bag unloader be required to have explosion protection (e.g. explosion panels or something else?

Hi ryn376

Consider this resource , you may contact specialists . To me I would say yes considering Hopper I'm currently using for API , all equipped with explosion panels.

Hope this helps
