Hi,

How can I calculate evaporation rate of a liquid passing through a small hole (for example 5mm^2 and liquid release rate around 0.5 kg/s)? For example for water or gasoline? Is there a simple and dirty way to calculate/estimate it?

Not a chemical engineering student, I am thermal power engineering.

Thanks!!

Richard

Much more gasoline than water. You probably won't find any reliable answers.

Does anybody else have an idea how to calculate/estimate it? :)

This page describes using the Bernoulli equation for flow through a hole: http://www.lmnoeng.c...w/bernoulli.phpThat should provide a starting place for your calculations and further research.
