Dear all,

Would like to know what is your experience regarding the matter above?

I would like to bleed some heavier component into diesel. I understand that there will be some cracking in DHT. The feed will be have a ASTM D86 95% that is higher than the sales spec (360degC max).

Can it reduce to the magnitude of 5degC in your experience?

If it is for ultra-low sulfur diesel, then it is likely that you can lower the 95% point. Check literature from the various licensors like UOP and Lummus/Chevron. Or your catalyst supplier.

It is for ULSD. They can only say it will lower but not sure of what is the magnitude. Hence would like to see if someone has an experience doing this and has a sense of how much it can decrease by.

It will reduce the FBP.. Can not say 95% recovery temperature. It all depends on the type of sulfur compounds the feed has because sulfur containing  hydrocarbon compounds have higher BP than corresponding compounds not containing sulfur.

thanks for your input. There is no sales spec for FBP though. I guess it is a risk still for the 95%.
