Hi all,

 

I am currently designing a flash drum to separate Isobutylene and water in an MTBE Production plant. The inlet of the flash drum comes from the outlet of the methanol wash column. The separated water is recycled back into the methanol wash column. I am currently struggling to find the Vapour liquid equilibrium data for this. I would be very grateful for any help and advice.

I don't recall such an operation in MTBE production facilities. Wash column rich water is preheated by interchange with the methanol recovery column water and fed directly to the methanol recovery column. So, you should modify your flowsheet to reflect this commercial practice.
