Dear members

I need assistance regarding following quarries.

1. Importance of deflector/baffle plate in furnace.

2. Location of its refractory lining on concave section or apex section.

3. Currently we are facing problems regarding its mechanical integrity. After every 12 to 16 months the deflector plate were found damaged. recently the deflector plate including the damper were found broken.

4. Suggest material selection for deflector plate. (SS-310, SS-304, SS-316)

5. Is it possible to operate furnace without deflector. What will be the drawbacks?

Regards

Danish Rasool
