Please help me in finding the solution. We need to remove a polypropylene coating of a pipeline in various locations. The thickness is high so that removing it mechanically by chiseling or cutting takes more than months for all these locations. Please suggest the way for this. Chemically, is it possible?

Try to burn it out. We did by this way for polyethylene and rubber coating of pipes and equipment. We did this in two ways:

- for small pipes we used propane torch (propane burner)

- for big pipes and equipment we made a big fire (really)

In second case we collect pipes and equipment (vessel 2-10 m3 with internals) than put it in one place. We use damaged pallets - we made a big fireplace (diameter 6-10 m, height 2-3 m) and placed around fire-fighters (on firefighting truck or personel with extinguishers). Then set on fire. Be aware of weather conditions - there is really a lot of smoke. Usually it took 6-8 hours.
