Hi,

Your problem is related to "Transient heat transfer". You have to mention more details about the dimension of aluminium slab, water temperature after quenching, etc. I hope, its kind of quenching application where large pool of water is available and hot aluminium is quenched. I am not sure how you can use chilled water here (diff in temp is near 100 Deg. C).

Look at the below link for your reference.

Thank you Mr. samayaraj for your reply.

Actually cooling is done through cooling water but Chilled water is used in heat exchange to maintain  cooling water temperature.

I have requested for temperature of cooling water after quenching but they replied that

"Maximum Temperature of Cooling water after touching 105 Degc AL can be calculated based upon retention time of cooling tub."

Please find below dimensions for Aluminium Ingot

Thickness: 635 mm

Ingot Width: 1613 mm and 1828 mm

Length: 9000 mm

Weight: 30000 Kg

Shawkat
