Dear All,
I have been in this community for quite long time and this is my first topic.
I would like to share with you a problem we are facing in our HC condensate stabilization plant and I would appreciate that you share your knowledge and experience for advice.
Recently, the plant started receiving product that has milky appearance. The product was analyzed and the results shows it is emulsified condensate with very high H2S concentration (around 50 ppm).
Troubleshooting exercise was done to determine the root causes and it detected that raw condensate feeding the plant has high water flow / concentration in comparison to the design of the plant. Due to turbulence, the condensate got mixed with water leading emulsion characteristics.
As a temporary measure, a demulsifier injection was proposed. However, the required injection rate appeared to be high which resulted in very high cost.
Since the problem is the high water concentration, one proposal raised to install Inline liquid-liquid separation device as a long term solution. But, we are not sure of the performance of such device.
Can anyone, please, share his experience and help me to sort out the issue?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
